Sunshine, how did I ever get along without you?
"You love him, don’t you?"
They’re very different, in a Yin-Yang way: Chris is a quiet, self-effacing craftsman who goes about his business of perfecting the almost lost art of extremely subtle acting for the camera — he’s aware, I think, of how a tiny shift of the planes of his face convey his thoughts and emotions; Darren is cheerfully and robustly conquering the world with a tireless energy for the many things heaped on his plate all at once. ♡
you can break my soul,
take my life away,
but for the love of god
don’t touch him.
It’s the ball from the first game we ever scored at.
He has a ring on it.

Kurt isn’t used to being chosen. Not like this. He never expects it. Wishes for it sometimes, maybe. But for someone to go out of their way and share their own spotlight with him, just because they believe he deserves it too, someone to tell him, “I see how amazing you are and I believe everyone else should see it too,” - he’s not used to that.
But Blaine not only sees him, Blaine believes in him. Blaine wants Kurt in the spotlight. Blaine loves Kurt and wants him to be happy, but he also genuinely believes in him and honestly believes that Kurt is the biggest fucking star in the whole entire universe. And Kurt, who has to fight for everything, doesn’t expect Blaine to just give him this because he wants him to have it.
Of course in the first one Blaine also wants to get into Kurt’s pants sort of but the two are not mutually exclusive.
